Strange Twists of the Mind

knots 1

Today,

while walking my dog, I had this

ABSOLUTE feeling

of being a stranger

and felt

completely alone.

The experience was entirely unexpected. I’m not new here.

I’ve been living on this continent since 19 years

I’ve been living in this country since 16 years

I’ve been living in this city since 8 years

I’ve been living in this apartment since 2 years

In the same neighborhood

With many of the neighbors remaining the same.

I have a child who is now 13; we have always been together and I am, therefore, not alone.

Yet

The feeling was overwhelming

Almost crushing

.

How bizarre!

(I suppose that “Papa” Freud – or maybe Jung? – could tell me that we all are alone and we all are strangers to each other… with the possible exception of twins.)
